About JioCinema.Biz
Urban Company is India’s leading platform for home services, connecting customers with trained professionals for everything from salon care and cleaning to appliance repair, painting and more. Founded in 2014, it set out to bring consistency, safety and accountability to a market that was largely unorganised.
Millions of people rely on Urban Company to let a stranger into their home. That makes trust the product, and the way the company explains itself matters as much as the service it delivers.

Challenge
Urban Company needed a blog microsite that could sit under its existing product and services website, extending the brand without competing with it.
Behind every booking is a lot of infrastructure: professional training, pricing, quality checks, safety measures and support. For many first-time users, especially across India’s varied languages, devices and levels of digital familiarity, that complexity can feel opaque.
The challenge was to make that complexity feel approachable and trustworthy. The blog had to educate without overwhelming, and it had to work for a diverse national audience.
Key questions that shaped the work:
How do we explain how Urban Company works without sounding like marketing?
How do we build trust with readers who are new to the platform?
How do we make the blog feel like a natural part of the main site?
How do we ensure it works for everyone, on every device?

Solution
I redesigned the blog around the reader’s questions rather than the brand’s messages.
Restructured the architecture and messaging around readers.
Content is organised by what people want to know, such as how services work, what to expect and how safety is handled, instead of by internal categories. Messaging was rewritten to be plain, direct and reassuring.
Built an educational layer that demystifies how Urban Company works.
The blog pages were rebuilt to explain the platform step by step, turning behind-the-scenes processes into clear, readable guides. Readers can see how a booking happens, how professionals are vetted and what quality means in practice.
Designed a visual system that steps back from brand-forward communication.
Instead of leading with brand expression, the system prioritises product clarity: calm layouts, strong typographic hierarchy, generous spacing and visuals that explain rather than decorate. The brand is present but never in the way of understanding.
Ensured full responsiveness and accessibility across devices.
Every template was designed for mobile-first use, with readable type sizes, sufficient colour contrast, clear tap targets and a consistent structure from low-end phones to desktop.
