How did I help?
Kohler India's website, which was first created in the 2000’s, was outdated in its appearance and feel, disjointed user experiences, and explicit distinction between the e-commerce site and the flagship brand site. I directed the redevelopment of the digital experience from scratch. crafting an accessible design system and streamlined user flows that combined brand narrative with
e-commerce capabilities.

Challenges
01
How can we minimize user drop-offs from landing pages and encourage more visitors to complete desired actions?
02
How can we effectively engage both new and returning users, optimize the experience for mobile devices, and deliver timely nudges that guide users at critical moments?

Solutions
In close coordination with Marketing, e-commerce, and Global Design groups, we made the strategic decision to re-design Kohler's brand identity from scratch. We set up a firm communications framework to build consistency in the experience and perception of the brand across touchpoints.
Based on that, I led the creation of a new visual identity system including a streamlined color palette, typography standards, and detailed guidance on imagery, video, and iconography. The aim was to have a consistent and modern visual language that draws in new and repeat visitors and reinforces Kohler's premium positioning.
Moving to the website, I began by re-structuring the information architecture to be simple for our non-technical users to use, but with depth and complexity accessible to our technical users. In doing this, I established user journeys, modular UI components, and scalable templates. Not only did this improve the overall user experience, but it also allowed Kohler to scale and expand the site simply as its user base grows over time.

Results & Impact
During our eight months of working together, our strategy involved extensive competitor analysis, visual direction research, and UX best practices applied to the information architecture and user experience of the website. We focused on redesigning the information architecture and developing a set of custom illustrations, icons, and page templates in order to enhance the visual and usability standards of the website. During the process, the Kohler team was active and provided precious feedback and support that enabled me to resolve challenging business problems and ensure the project's success.
